I recently stumbled upon an article with an alarming stat:
70 percent of Americans hate their jobs or have “checked out” of their workplace. While the reason for this dissatisfaction varies, these people—all 70 million of them—long for something different, something more satisfying.

Can you identify with these people?

Maybe you work for a boss who could care less about the well-being of his employees. You’ve met all the goals he set before you, but for some reason he continues to tear you down with harsh criticism. You feel worthless and disrespected.

Maybe you recently accepted your dream job,
only to realize that you’re cut out for something entirely different. Your day-to-day responsibilities have left your head spinning. And you’ve found yourself working late into the night to keep pace with your co-workers. You feel tired and discouraged.

Or maybe you’ve worked diligently in your position for more than a decade, but your responsibilities—and salary—have yet to increase. You wonder if your boss views you as anything more than dead weight. You feel inadequate and untrusted.

Regardless of your situation, you can’t fathom waking up and walking into your office for another day. You crave a new company, a new boss and a fresh start.

If this is you today, I encourage you to open your Bible and meditate on God’s Word for peace, hope and strength. These six Bible verses will get you started:

  1. Romans 15:13 (GNTD)
May God, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and peace by means of your faith in him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the Holy Spirit.
  2. Isaiah 41:10 (GNTD)
Do not be afraid—I am with you! I am your God—let nothing terrify you! I will make you strong and help you; I will protect you and save you.
  3. John 14:27 (GNTD)
Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.
  4. Isaiah 26:3 (GNTD)
You, Lord, give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in you.
  5. Exodus 15:2 (GNTD)
The Lord is my strong defender; he is the one who has saved me. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will sing about his greatness.
  6. John 16:33 (GNTD)
I have told you this so that you will have peace by being united to me. The world will make you suffer. But be brave! I have defeated the world!
