Two billion people around the world have never heard of Jesus. That’s 41% of the world’s population that don’t know him, understand who he is, or have access to his word.
But thankfully that is changing.
International Day for the Unreached, June 9, 2019, is a day that churches, ministries, and believers come together to shed light on the fact that there are still many unreached people groups. It is a day to pray for those who have never heard of Jesus and to become an advocate for the unreached.
How We’re Making a Difference
Many people groups are unreached because they have never experienced God’s love in their own language. There are approximately 2,000 languages around the world with no Scripture.
American Bible Society is part of the Pray for Zero alliance dedicated to translating God’s Word so that there will be zero people in the world without Scripture in their own language. It’s our heart’s desire to make Christ known to unreached people groups like the Lu Mein people in China, the Koiri of India, and the Lampung Abung in Indonesia.
And you can be a part!
Get Involved
Reaching those who have never heard of Jesus is a huge task! We can’t reach them alone. It takes the whole body of Christ to fulfill the Great Commission. Your voice, your support, and your prayers matter.
Join us on International Day for the Unreached as we Pray for Zero people without access to God’s Word. Discover how you can adopt, pray, and advocate for a specific unreached people group. Choose to be a part of a movement of people on fire to reach those who have never heard the name Jesus.
