Maria* had hit rock bottom. Her mom was abusive, and her dad was not in her life. Maria became overwhelmed by feelings of anger and depression. Heartbroken, she tried to commit suicide to escape the physical and emotional pain she felt daily.
Sadly, this is a reality for many youth living in Paraguay. About a quarter of Paraguayans live below the national poverty line. In order to earn better wages most of the working class migrate to other countries, leaving their youth and children to either fend for themselves or to live with a relative. These children deal with feelings of neglect, loneliness, and abandonment.
But God loves these children. He wants them to know that he would never abandon them and that he’s right by their side.
Finding Hope in God’s Word
Paraguayan Bible Society launched End-to-End ministry to help youth discover the unfailing love of Jesus. End-to-End ministry helps these youth experience the life-transformative message of the Bible by inviting them to watch the JESUS film, participate in listening groups, and join a local church. Through this ministry, youth learn how much God loves them and how he has a beautiful plan for their lives.
Since introducing End-to-End in schools, more than 1000 students have seen the JESUS film. They are also listening to Scripture in their language on audio devices and they have received a New Testament Bible.
Maria attended the End-to-End program at her school. And God began to heal her broken heart. She now prays and gives her struggles to God. She’s even learning to trust others again. God has done amazing things in Maria’s life.
We’re praying that more youth and children will experience his love and hope just like Maria did. Will you join us?
Let’s Pray Together
God, thank you for healing Maria’s pain and showing her how much you love her. We pray that the End-to-End ministry will continue to reach many young people like Maria with the hope found in your Word. We pray for a Jesus revival among the younger generations in Paraguay.
