The church in China continues to grow exponentially, with an estimated 1 million believers joining churches across the country each year. But there are 115 million people in China whose heart language is not Mandarin. Of those, about 77 percent don’t have access to Scripture in their native language. These individuals often live in remote areas and survive on less than $1 a day.
American Bible Society is working with United Bible Societies China Partnership to make God’s Word available and accessible to those waiting for Scripture in their heart language.
“When you receive the Bible in your heart language, it is like God talking to you personally,” says Jock Foo, project manager for the United Bible Societies China Partnership. She explains that Bible translation sends a powerful message to minority language groups: “You’re not left out. God has not forgotten you.”
Join us in praying for translated Bibles to reach Chinese believers with a message of love and hope.
Pray for:
- God to prepare the hearts of people who are still waiting to read Scripture in their heart language.
- God to continue providing for the funding and resource needs to reach these rural communities with translated Bibles.
- God to bless the Bible-based literacy programs that are running alongside this translation work, empowering Chinese Christians to read God’s Word for themselves.
