Over the last few months, the latest State of the Bible 2020 report has provided our praying community with valuable insights on how to pray for increased Scripture engagement in America. This month, we invite you to pray for the U.S. Military community.

The latest chapter, Chapter 8: Scripture Engagement and the U.S. Military, reveals the importance of God’s Word for U.S. Service members and Veterans especially when they face unique stresses.

Amongst the data we learn:

  • One-third of Service members (33%) read the Bible at least once a week
  • When faced with traumatic events and other stressors, Service members and Veterans often seek help from chaplains and counselors
  • As deployments increase, service personnel are more likely to value a Military community that shares their religious faith

The research indicates that many members of the Military community turn to the Bible, their church, and their pastor or chaplain for spiritual and emotional support. That’s why providing God’s Word to Military communities so vitally important.
