Van loaded with blankets and Bibles en route to Peru earthquake/hurricane aftermath
Central and South America have been hit hard by natural disasters. The promise of God’s Word in difficult times becomes critically important.
The Bible Society of Peru brought relief to the people of Huancavelica who were affected by a major earthquake last September. The American Bible Society funded the effort, which included the delivery of Scriptures, blankets and zinc roofing sheets.
Elsewhere, the American Bible Society has partnered with Christian relief organizations through local Bible Societies: to supply Scriptures and aid to Bolivia after their mud slides; to Haiti and the West Indies after the Hurricane Dean floods; and to the Dominican Republic after tropical storm Noel.
