Aline* was like many in Angola, where about one-third of the people live in poverty. Her heart ached as she longed to understand the message of hope and comfort in the Bible. Her circumstances kept her away from its message, but she still waited.
“I lived in a rural and very poor area. I couldn’t buy the Bible for lack of money,” Aline explains. “Even in worship services or preaching, I could not understand the biblical message. When I had to go through difficult times, I was discouraged, sad, and desperate.”
But thanks to our partners, Aline received her own Bible in her heart language, Umbundu, for the first time.
Aline could finally connect to God’s Word like never before. She believes her life has changed for the better now that she can find comfort in the Bible.
“Before, people called me weak, bitter, desperate, and sad,” she says. “But I thank God today that I am a strong, happy, confident, and wonderful woman.”
She adds, “To me, the Bible means life. The Bible gives life. Today, the Bible has restored me and gives me strength, hope, and comfort.”
We are thankful for our partners for touching the hearts of people like Aline and changing their lives for eternity with the Bible!
