For more than 30 years, Langying* followed a guiding light in her walk of faith … her Bible.
“The Bible offers us renewing power daily. It is the bright light that leads us,” the Chinese woman explains. However, as her eyesight deteriorated with age, Langying could not read Scripture.
“When I could not read the Bible, my heart was heavy,” Langying admits. “Not being able to read the Bible made me feel as if I had abandoned God. It was tormenting.”
Langying found her guiding light again when friends like you provided her with a large print Bible.
“The larger font size is much easier for me to read,” she says. “I am now able to read the Bible with ease, and I can continue to draw on the Word to strengthen my faith in whatever I do.”
The large print Bible is essential for elderly Chinese Christians, especially those in rural areas. When the elderly start to lose their eyesight, they cannot see small print. Those in rural areas have little access to God’s Word as it is. Large print Bibles are their only hope to learn about God and pass that faith on to future generations.
Langying takes care of her two grandchildren. “Now with the large print Bible, I can read regularly to my grandchildren. I want them to know the Word so that they can walk in His ways.”
We are thankful for our financial partners who selflessly give and help make this special ministry possible.
