American Bible Society Partners have helped place more than 1 million Bibles and New Testaments in the hands and hearts of people in 31 African countries during the past year!
Pastors from impoverished regions received Bibles for members of their congregations who had none. School children were also given Bibles of their own, a treasure that stirred a great deal of excitement. In Ghana, one boy told us, “I want to get nearer to God.” In Eswatini, the Minister of Education even took part in the Bible distributions. And after a sixth-grade girl read a verse of Scripture aloud, she said with great joy, “Now, I can get to know Jesus better.” This is the generation that will take the baton of ministry in their native countries!
American Bible Society’s Million Bible Campaign began in Cuba 10 years ago, and it has swept across Latin America. In Paraguay, the president was so grateful that he went out and distributed Bibles with us. In Africa, 12 different versions of the Bible in seven languages were distributed.
Throughout this campaign, friends like you have helped give more than 5 million Bibles and New Testaments to people in 46 countries, in their heart languages. For most, it was the first Bible they had ever received. And each person receiving a Bible has a local believer in his or her country discipling them in their walk with Jesus.
We are so grateful to our generous friends for helping to share God’s Word with so many people in so many countries!
