Sahan* coped with the pain in his heart by acting out of bitterness and anger toward others. He has grown up in an orphanage in Sri Lanka, like tens of thousands of other infants and children who have been abandoned over the years due to war, displacement, family conflict, or extreme poverty.

“I was addicted to bad habits,” Sahan explains. “I used to criticize people who were weaker than me. I’d hurt them. That was my nature.”

That was before the Bible Society visited Sahan’s school with the “Healing the Wounds of Teens’ Trauma” program. After attending the sessions, Sahan now says, “I realized in this journey we have to heal someone’s heart rather than breaking and hurting them. I finally found relief. I came to know who God is . . . who Jesus is, and from that moment, my life was changed.”

Bible-based trauma healing programs are helping more hurting people thanks to the generosity of our financial partners. Using God’s Word, adults, youth, and even children can find hope and healing to recover from the deep emotional scars of physical and sexual abuse, abandonment, and more.

Our faithful friends are making it possible for hurting men, women, and children all over the world to find healing and peace through Scripture. We are so grateful for their incredible commitment to sharing God’s Word and changing lives for eternity!
